This week's video looks at how Northern sympathizers and Southern sympathizers tend to talk past each other when discussing slavery as a cause of the Civil War.

I'm skipping the usual supplementary post, having just returned from a couple weeks of travel (followed by dogsitting for a friend). For the last several years my family and I have done "off-peak" holiday celebrations, finding that not gathering at the same time everyone else is makes the logistics easier and getting together that much more enjoyable.
